Mason Murray
Children’s Program Coordinator

Mason Murray plays a key role in leading and organizing Camp Gencheff’s children’s programming. As Children’s Program Coordinator, he oversees the day-to-day planning and facilitation of programs, including the After School Program and Summer Camp, while also managing communication with families and coordinating daily school pickups.
Mason graduated from the Holland College Child and Youth Care Worker program in 2019 and has been involved in children’s camps since his teenage years. Over the years, he has built extensive experience working with children and youth across a variety of environments, including camps, schools, residential services, respite support, and post-secondary student programming.
His background includes leadership and coordination roles with Holland College athletics and orientation programming, six years working within the education system, experience in provincial residential services, and one-on-one respite support. Mason brings a calm, dependable, and organized approach to programming, helping create positive and supportive experiences for campers and families alike.

Kennedy Madden
Office Administrator

Kennedy Madden is the Office Administrator at Camp Gencheff, helping support the day-to-day operations that keep the organization running smoothly. Her role includes scheduling, organizing files and records, managing communications, and assisting with administrative coordination across programs and services.
Before joining Camp Gencheff, Kennedy worked for the Horizon Achievement Centre, a vocational training and employment centre supporting adults with intellectual disabilities, where she served as a Production Assistant for three years. This experience helped strengthen her ability to work in supportive, fast-paced, and community-focused environments.
Kennedy also brings more than five years of experience as a spa receptionist, where she developed strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Her attention to detail and approachable nature make her an important part of the Camp Gencheff team and a welcoming point of contact for families and community members.

Liz Basaraba
Day Program Manager

Liz Basaraba is the Day Program Manager at Camp Gencheff, where she oversees the daily operations of programs that support individuals with disabilities. Her role focuses on creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment while ensuring high-quality care for clients and strong leadership for staff. Liz manages all aspects of day-to-day programming, including planning activities that promote independence, social connection, and overall well-being. She oversees client care, maintains and reviews documentation and client files, and works closely with caregivers, families, and staff to support individualized care plans and consistent communication across supports.
Liz began her career as a behavioural consultant working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, where she developed a strong foundation in individualized support and behavioural strategies. She later transitioned into supporting adults with disabilities, further expanding her experience in client-centred care and program development.
Prior to joining Camp Gencheff’s leadership team, Liz managed a day program in Victoria, gaining valuable experience in staff leadership and program operations. After relocating to Prince Edward Island, she joined Camp Gencheff as a support worker before progressing into her current management role. Today, she continues to play an important role in leading programming, supporting staff, and helping create meaningful experiences for participants and families alike.

Darby Myers serves as the Children’s Program Manager at Camp Gencheff, where they oversee the daily operations and overall coordination of the children’s programs. Their role includes staff leadership, program planning, behaviour support, and helping ensure participants receive individualized, compassionate, and high-quality care.
Darby works closely with families, caregivers, schools, and support teams to advocate for participants and build strong collaborative relationships that support each child’s success. They are also responsible for developing and implementing individualized behaviour plans and client profiles, helping create supportive environments that encourage growth, inclusion, and positive experiences for all participants. In addition to overseeing day-to-day programming, Darby helps guide staff support strategies, program structure, participant transitions, communication planning, and behavioural response approaches to ensure programs remain safe, engaging, and responsive to individual needs.
Darby is a graduate of the Holland College Child and Youth Care Worker program and brings a diverse background in community and social support services. Their experience includes six years working within the education system, along with roles supporting individuals through homelessness, housing, and justice-related services with Native Council of Prince Edward Island. This wide range of experience has helped shape their person-centred and advocacy-focused approach to supporting children, youth, and families.

Darby Myers

Jen D’Aoust
Clinical Coordinator & Respite Program Manager

Jen D’Aoust is the Clinical Coordinator for Camp Gencheff’s Respite Program, where she oversees the day-to-day operations of the program while supporting clients, families, and staff. Her role focuses on ensuring participants receive safe, individualized, and high-quality care in a supportive environment.
Jen manages the clinical and operational aspects of the respite program, including client intake, assessments, individualized care planning, staff scheduling, and program coordination. She also leads and supports respite staff, maintains documentation and records, and works closely with families and healthcare providers to help ensure consistent communication and continuity of care.
Before joining Camp Gencheff’s leadership team, Jen worked as a clinical resource nurse with nearly a decade of experience across emergency, mental health, medical, and surgical settings. She also worked as a Clinical Planner in home care, coordinating support between families and multidisciplinary care teams. Jen first joined Camp Gencheff in Summer 2025 as a one-to-one support worker before stepping into her current role.
Alongside her professional experience, Jen brings lived experience as a parent and advocate for her own neurodivergent children, helping shape her compassionate and family-centered approach to care and support.

Elysia Penny
Executive Director

Elysia Penny serves as the Executive Director of Camp Gencheff, where she provides leadership and direction across all programs and operations. Her role focuses on ensuring the organization continues to grow while delivering meaningful, high-quality support and experiences for individuals and families in the community.
Elysia oversees the organization’s programs, strategic planning, and overall operations, helping guide Camp Gencheff’s long-term vision and development. Her responsibilities include supporting staff and program leadership, overseeing funding and grant development initiatives, and helping ensure the organization continues to meet the evolving needs of participants and families.
With more than 23 years of experience at Camp Gencheff, Elysia brings extensive knowledge, leadership, and dedication to the organization. Prior to her work in the non-profit sector, she also worked as a paramedic, bringing valuable experience in care, crisis response, and community support to her role.
Through her leadership, Elysia continues to help shape Camp Gencheff into a supportive, welcoming, and community-driven organization focused on inclusion, growth, and meaningful impact.
